How many times have you heard, or even said, the following statements in the context of loss?
“He’s in a better place now.”
“At least her suffering is over.”
“You can always get a new dog/cat/job.”
“Keep your chin up. It will be okay.”
Did those statements make you feel any better, or did your pain continue?
Perhaps they made you feel even more alone.
In Grief Recovery, we debunk the myths about grief that continue to be passed down, generation to generation. These myths include:
- Don’t feel bad.
- Replace the loss.
- Be strong.
- Time heals all wounds.
- Keep busy.
- Grieve alone.
When I discovered the Grief Recovery Method, I knew it was for me. Nothing had ever resonated so clearly with my own beliefs about grief and grief work. As a Grief Recovery Specialist, I have not only had the privilege of hearing others talk about their losses and struggles, I have also witnessed the transformation of my own life.
I now offer one-to-one and group support for grievers in Luxembourg/Germany as well as groups for parents, caregivers and teachers who would like to help children deal with loss.
Sessions are offered in both English and German.
