grief poem
Verse

what was underneath

I threw back the covers on my grief today.

I pulled back the aching.

I pulled back the rage.

I pulled back the confusion.

I pulled back the cries of protest.

I pulled back the anxiety.

And what was left?

Two words.

Thank you.

Thank you for coming to Earth.

Thank you for being you.

Thank you for being a part of my life.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.
